Structural steel beams, set in place

We supply steel beams, galvanise them and put them in. You get the drawing from your engineer and we build to it. Other structural steelwork too: if it is steel, ask us.

On a recent job in Halls Head we put in a new galvanised beam for a balcony. It went up on a chain block from the scaffold, then was set onto the piers.

Questions about Structural Steel

How long does it take to install a steel beam?

It depends on the size of the beam, the finish and when your engineer's drawing is ready, so ask us for a time when we quote.

Do steel beams need to be galvanised?

Not always. Your engineer's drawing says what finish the beam needs. A beam outside or open to the weather, like one for a balcony, is usually galvanised so it does not rust, and near the coast that matters more. Inside a dry house, paint is often enough. We can galvanise the beam for you, so ask when you send the drawing.
